Health Concerns Related to
Weight Loss and Metabolic Syndrome X,
Chronic Low-Level Inflammation,
or the Insulin Resistance Syndrome

In dozens of the most fatal and most common diseases, Persistent Low-Level Inflammation and Insulin Resistance are indeed now understood to be the two major causes underlying the disease -- most Heart Disease, Obesity, Stroke, Type-2 Diabetes, Cancers and many other diseases.** (Read the latest scientific research about these conditions by clicking a link in the list of diseases below.)

Declining health usually involves several linked diseases or conditions, as we discussed on our How Inflammation Made You Sick and The 3 Levels of Health pages. Even though most diseases are now understood by scientists and researchers around the world to stem from only a few common root-causes, many over-worked health practitioners still treat them as separate diseases. Most busy doctors cannot take the time to look very far back in a patient's history to determine what actually caused the condition. As a result of this narrow focus, it is common to merely get treatment for the immediate symptom of your disease.

However, if we broaden and change our focus on health to include reversing the two main causes of most diseases, we can prevent many diseases from ever developing, and possibly even stop existing diseases from worsening and in some cases even reverse them. This is an exciting and very real possibility for many of us who suffer from many of the diseases listed below. Adopting a lifestyle change by implementing the Level 1 Diet can help many of us get on the road to Level 1 Health. The Level 1 Diet involves a list of foods to avoid, a list of foods to eat, a supplement list to reduce chronic inflammation and lower insulin resistance, and an easy-to-follow exercise program.

Remember that Level 1 Health is the healthy disease-free state that we all want to achieve and maintain. In Level 2, our health is secretly declining, usually due to low-levels of persistent or chronic inflammation. During this phase, our insulin resistance is usually increasing, which gradually leads to a self-reinforcing and accelerated weight gain and obesity.

Finally, we progress into a the Level 3 Health, which is a very dangerous place to be. At that stage, we are forced to finally notice the symptoms of diseases that we were ignoring as they were slowly growing over our passage through Level 2.

The Level 3 health stage is full, frank, overt and usually deadly disease. It often reveals or presents itself to doctors as a heart attack, a stroke, diabetic coma, cancerous tumor, or other extremely dangerous event, sometimes a fatal event.

Common Diseases Associated with
Chronic Low-Level Inflammation
or Insulin Resistance Syndrome**

**It is important to understand that Chronic Low-Level Inflammation, or Insulin Resistance Syndrome may not always be the only, or even the primary cause underlying each and every degenerative disease. Sometimes a particular condition may also result from environmental toxins, shock, infections, accidents, stress or inherited-genetic conditions.
